A downright decent human being who represented Colorado with honor and distinction in both the state legislature and Congress, has made an endorsement in the 7th Congressional District race to replace Ed Perlmutter.
Hank Brown threw his support behind economist Tim Reichert this week for the Republican primary.
Reichert has already petitioned his way onto the ballot, and if elected would take on the chosen ones, Mr. and Mrs. State Senator Brittany Pettersen, who has already been deemed the successor by the entire Democrat Party establishment.
In making his endorsement, Brown said: “Tim comes to the table with a background suited for our current economic climate and has the tools to make change in Washington.”
That’s a gentlemanly way of saying the dude’s got the smarts and the temperament to deal with those fools in D.C.
Reichert, of course, was honored by the endorsement:
“Senator Brown embodies leadership,” Reichert said. “Whether it was volunteering to serve in Vietnam in the U.S. Navy, to his selfless service in Congress, or his dedication to our students during his time as president of CU, I could not think of a better example of a Colorado statesman.”
Also running in the Democrat primary without a chance are Kyle Faust and Julius Mopper.
In the Republican primary, Erik Aadland’s petition was denied by Colorado’s Election Tzar Jena Griswold, so he’s fighting that in court while planning to get the support he needs at the party’s district assembly.
Also running on the Republican ballot are attorney Brad Dempsey, construction owner Carl Anderson and former energy executive Laurel Imer.
