The October surprises are already underway in Colorado’s 8th District race for the U.S. House where the campaign battle station operated by Republicans has been burglarized.

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) headquarters located on 2200 E 104th Ave in Thornton was hit along with a few other offices in the building, with a reported loss of about $1,500 in stolen equipment.

“No one is safe in Yadira Caraveo’s Colorado thanks to her pro-crime policies,” NRCC spokeswoman Delanie Bomar said in a statement this week.

“If it can happen to the NRCC’s field office, it could happen to anyone in Caraveo’s district,” Bomar said.

The primary goal of the office was to defeat Caraveo and support Gabe Evans’ campaign to replace the freshman congresswoman.

Polls show the race is neck-and-neck between the two candidates.

Numerous electronic devices were stolen including a laptop and camera, according to the report filed by the Thornton Police Department.

“I have not investigated any leads at this time and recommend the case remains inactive,” the report concluded.

Not to sound all conspiratorial — Watergate — but the campaign workers might want to have their office swept for bugs.
