UPDATE: A Hickenlooper spokesperson has responded to the allegations that Hickenlooper has refused to meet with Sheriffs. See tweet below. Pending review sounds like the gubernatorial version of postpone indefinitely, but we’re glad Hick and his people have changed their minds, as we predicted they would.
The tweet from Brandon Rittiman:
Spox for @hickforco: “We have not ‘refused’ to meet with the sheriffs.” Says request in letter to meet is pending review. @copeakpolitics

Democrats have clearly had their fill of the Colorado Sheriffs. The Sheriffs publicly pummeled the gun control caucus in testimony before the State Senate last week.
Every major paper in the state aired some version of this picture.
Sheriffs have also played an oversized role in publicly targeting gun controllers, on TV and the radio:
And Mayor Bloomberg’s gun control lackeys are none-too-pleased.
Our sources tell us that Governor Hickenlooper refused a meeting with the Sheriffs last week. Rewind: John Hickenlooper, Mr. Why Can’t We All Get Along, refused to meet with Sheriffs.
Hickenlooper is starting to take this stuff personal. First an attack on protesters, and now this.
This won’t last long. Governor Hickenlooper will have to eventually face the Sherrif’s posse. It, however, says a lot about how personally he is taking all this that he wouldn’t meet in the first place.
The Looper is certainly cast his lot with the national progressives, forsaking the representation of Coloradoans.
We need to clean house in Denver (and other areas). The only way to do this is to: 1. Identify who needs to go (what areas), 2. Get a good viable candidate in these areas 3. Start working the elections now. These people were hand (can you say "White House Administration") selected because of the Legislative balance which has been brought about the way conservatives tend to take a "Hands-off" approach to things that don't necessarily affect us. This has affected us and moderate liberals as well. We must start now to correct this in our state. We don't want to become the Illinois of the west.
Hick can honestly say that he didn't meet a single officer that opposes gun grab legislation. And he'll be honest.
Can you guys get a re-call going to get rid of him?
So he's the anti-jobs governor as well as the anti-gun governor.
wish hickenlooper would go away
Hickenlooper is an embarrassment to CO and does not belong here–
He's so ridiculous–and an a**hole–send him back east where he came from and where he belongs–he's not fit mayor nor governor material–and he's the homeliest specimen ever —
"pending" is political double speak for ignore it and it will go away.
great stand the Sheriffs of Colorado, they understand that all these laws are just a gun grab and will do nothing to curb gun violence, and will only make law abiding gin owners pay the price.
I wonder how the state patrol feels about this? They have to protect Hick when he travels but they must also feel like these laws will do nothing to make the people safer. Hick is in it for the money at this point.
