According to the Denver Daily News, Sen. Shawn Mitchell has introduced a bill to repeal Bill Ritter's backdoor collective bargaining plan for state workers.
Bravo, Sen. Mitchell.
Bipartisan compromise is all well and good, but Republicans in the Legislature have an obligation to give their best shot at repealing the worst parts of Bill Ritter's crap.
We hope someone in the House will take up the cause too.
This Executive Order set such a terrible precedent for state government. Unionizing workers in this day and age adds enormous expense and provides no protections or benefits to the actual worker. If Gov. Hickenlooper stands by his word to make government more efficient he will either reverse this order unilaterally or support this bill. Do what’s right for Colorado Governor!
Sal Pace and his fist might be looking for you…
This is going to be a critical piece of legislation to get Colorado back on the path tword true economic recovery!
You’re acting as if this bill would make it out of committee. It’s a good idea: there’s no way the Senate Democrats will let it slip by.
There’s still hope! It would be really nice if this bill managed to garner a lot of attention and support in the House.
starts with taking care of our struggling labor force! Legislation like this only continues to kill jobs and line the pockets of corporate special interests. Thank goodness labor still has a friend in the Senate. We must stand up and fight for labor interests above all!
have helped nothing, and the policies their lobbyists push only hinder recovery. It’s Colorado’s small businesses are what will bring our economy back up to speed.
Labor unions are “special interests,” too. For that matter, isn’t anyone with a vested interest in policies a “special interest”?
