To watch CBS 4 news last night, you would think that Barack Obama is the last adult in Washington. A segment on the budget fight in Washington gave the decided impression that Obama was working over time to keep the government open.

Wouldn't it be nice for Channel 4's viewers to know that Obama just hours before had threatened to veto a GOP spending measure that would keep the government open, even while meting out some budget cuts?

Wouldn't it be nice to at least hear the perspective of one Republican leader — any Republican really would do — in a story about a budget fight between the President and Republicans?

Channel 4 should correct the omission and tell the rest of the story. Barack Obama's intransigence toward a budget with spending restrictions is the reason that the government might shut down. All Obama has to do is sign the budget and the lights stay on for Uncle Sam.
