Conservatives loathe him and liberals lambaste him. President Obama just can't win. Even liberals can’t argue he isn’t a liberal — but they can and do argue he is a failed liberal. We forgive them for not wanting to roll with a loser, and that Mr. Obama assuredly is.

Politico reports that at a morning fundraiser today in San Francisco a group supporting traitor Pfc. Bradley Manning stood up and serenaded Obama with a song:

“I paid my dues, where’s our change?” the group sang. “We’ll vote for you in 2012, yes that’s true. Look at the Republicans – what else can we do?”

…Obama appeared to take the interruption in stride and at first he didn’t seem to realize it was a protest song. He looked to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and asked, “Nancy, did you do this?” Ms. Pelosi had a look on her face, as she stared at the singing group, that definitely said she did not, according to the pool report.

The group continued its song: “Even though we don’t know if we’ll retain our liberties, in what you seem content to call a free society, yes it’s true that Terry Jones is legally free, to burn a people’s holy book in shameful effigy, but at another location in this country, alone in a 6×12 cell sits Bradley, 23 hours a day is night, the 5th and 8th Amendments say this kind of thing ain’t right, we paid our dues, where’s our change?”

The President did not appreciate the ballad. “That was a nice song,” a displeased Obama said. “Now where was I?”

Obama's support is sinking faster than the Titanic at this point. He has broken endless promises to liberals: that he would close Guantanamo, remove all American troops from Iraq by now, and that the waters would stop rising and the earth would begin to heal once he became President.  None has happened yet.

We don't have to list the encyclopedic list of conservative transgressions Obama has committed, but needless to say, he has done less to please conservatives than Ricky Gervais did for celebrities at the Oscars.

While defeating an incumbent President is no easy task, the more Obama has to deal with pleasing and energizing his left wing the harder it will be for him to bullshit the political middle into believing he actually is a moderate pragmatist.

In that spirit, three cheers for the liberals in San Francisco!
