Update: Romer moves on to runoff with nearly 30%; second spot on June ballot too close to call with Hancock leading Mejia by 715 votes. Final update at 10 pm.
Mayor:
Chris Romer 25,695 (29.97%)
Michael Hancock 22,420 (26.15%)
James Mejia 21,705 (25.32%)
So it is a bit more than just the Mejia vote.
My question (do not live in Denver), does voter turn out increase or decrease in the June voting?
I feel like there’s a better chance for more turnout in June. It’s easier to get people fired up about 2 candidates than a dozen, plus they’ll have heard about these 2 for a lot longer. It’ll be interesting to see where the new votes go. I have a feeling Hancock gets this one.
does anyone know the minimum threshold a candidate needs to reach to make the run-off??
