Sources tell the Peak that Congressman Scott Tipton raised at least $375,000 in the first fundraising quarter of 2012. That represents a major turnaround in what had previously been a lackluster fundraising effort by Tipton.

His competitor, Rep. Sal Pace (D-Urination) raised $280,000 in the same period.

Last quarter, Pace raised $208,000 to Tipton's $180,000, worrying Tipton supporters.

With Tipton's strong showing this quarter, beating Pace by $100,000, it will be the Pace supporters worrying about momentum moving in the wrong direction.

Between Joe Coors Jr raising $450,000 and Mike Coffman raising $532,000 this quarter, it is clear Republican donors are fired up and ready to go.
