Have you been good little boys and girls, PeakNation™?  If so, there’s a possibility that, come Christmas morning, there might be a firearm under the tree for you.

The Denver Post reported this weekend that Black Friday caused firearm background checks to surge.  On Friday, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation processed 3,804 background checks.  While this is lower than last year’s 4,000, the Post attributed the lower number to “the massive backlog from weeks of soaring gun sales”.

As we reported last month, the first ten months of background checks for gun purchases in 2013 had already almost equaled all of the background checks conducted in 2012.
