Yesterday, a teenage gunman walked into Arapahoe High School in Centennial in search of a teacher with whom he had a disagreement and shot an innocent 17-year old girl before killing himself.  This senseless act is intolerable in our society and he is a coward.  His life is over, but his victim, Claire Davis, is fighting for her life at Littleton Adventist Hospital.

According to the Twitter hashtag that her friends have been using (#prayforclaire), her condition is critical and her family says she is “not doing very well”.

Please take a moment in the hustle and bustle of the holiday rush this weekend to offer a prayer – or positive thoughts, if you’re not religious – for her recovery.  Please also pray for her family as we cannot even begin to imagine how difficult this must be for them.

Tonight, Claire’s Arapahoe High School classmates will convene a candlelight vigil for her at Arapahoe Park at 5 p.m.
