In case you missed it, over the weekend, Jefferson County School District Superintendent Cindy Stevenson asked to be let out of her contract early. The Jefferson County school board obliged. And, the union folks were waiting in the wings to cause disruption at the school board meeting as caught on tape by Revealing Politics. Regardless of where you stand on Stevenson’s departure, the behavior exhibited by her “supporters” (aka the “uniformed” screaming masses) sets a poor example for our kids and gets in the way of the purpose of the meeting. How is this temper tantrum “for the kids” again?

These people are beyond reproach and have mucked up our beautiful Jeffco schools. I am embarrassed and disgusted. Bye Bye Dr Stevenson…u won't be missed!!
They always say it's for the children but I know that's not true.
Please understand I have many teachers in my life that I care about dearly Heck I was married to a teacher for 17 years. I just am speaking my opinion from a conservative business owners point of view.

You and I need to sit down and have a chat – the "union" is not opposed to quality, thought out, researched reform – but what is happening is not what is best for 85,000 students – charters are typically much lower performing than neighborhood schools

They are not union thugs tho……just angry liberals wearing black shirts (boots too?) and shouting down a newly elected adult, school district school board team, that happens to be conservative reformers, after a 12 year liberal run school district, that used Jefferson County PROPERTY TAX PAYER'S MONEY to fund their TEACHER UNION PERA RETIREMENT and with no accountability to anyone that opposed their reign of terror. The horror is ….these screamers and ranters are the "teachers" in our classrooms all across the USA………and they wonder why charter schools will soon over take the socialist NEA, PERA and the over educated elites that "know more" than all the American Families concerned about who the hell is teaching our children. Jefferson County Taxpayer's paid this "teacher for life Cindy Stevenson", $201,000.00 per year for 12 years not including her PERA Retirement Benefits….so how does over $2,412,000.00 in our property tax money going to ONE PERSON grab you? The REALLLLY sick and disgraceful thing is she will earn up to 80% of her highest year of her salary, per year for the rest of her life…..and the property tax payers get to pay that every year to her as well. Are you feeling really ill yet about this Ponzi scheme?
Drama is needed to carry out the liberal Idiology. Reform is a dirty word to unions especially when they become part of that reform. Thus, the jeers and cheers!
Funny to me, when Lesley was in charge, she not only didn't allow individuals to speak, she was asking they be removed from board meetings and she NEVER allowed any of this to go on- paint me skeptical of her one sided, one common goal approach.
