Just when you thought Democrats in the state legislature couldn’t control yet another aspect of Coloradans’ lives, here they come with legislation to control bathrooms. Fixtures, that is. A bill just passed in the Senate today, SB14-103 phases out regular toilets in favor of low-efficiency plumbing fixtures. If you’re feeling a little squeamish about the new regulation, you’re not alone. Republican Sen. Larry Crowder summed it up perfectly:
“I don’t believe government belongs in the bedroom, and I don’t believe it belongs in the bathroom,” Sen. Crowder on SB103. #coleg

The legislation just seems so nitpick-y. Colorado has real issues and focusing on this minutiae seems to be a waste of time and energy. Republican candidate for Colorado state H.D. 19 Dallas Brooks agreed:
The #coleg is going to save us from inefficient toilets! #sb103. Meanwhile, 250k Coloradans dropped out of the workforce. What a “load.”

However, perhaps the award for best tweet on the issue should go to Kristen Wyatt:
The infamous long-flushing toilet in 1st floor women’s restroom has long needed to be a debate point on the floor. #coleg

To bad they cant go after tax payer money waste with this same enthusiasm. Guess the worst thing going on in this state right now is what we put in our bathroom, maybe they need to get out of theirs and see what is going on.
Y'all need to see a dietitian. Just saying.
Also known as two flush poties! The problem that no Democrat could understand is that the reduced fluid causes problems in sewer lines and changes the chemistry in Waste Water Treatment facilities. PWSD recycles the return flows via Rueter Hess Reservoir with most losses from irrigation… thus minimal impact to water consumption… larger impact to your wallet.
i have these in my townhome. I have to flush three times to get a deuce down. Wonder if the politicians would like to install these water wasters in their home.
Yeah, let's just spend more tax dollars to build dams! Let's take more water from the Western Slope so we can waste it in the suburbs and townhouses of Denver and the Front Range.
Well you have to remember that the Democrats are the unrivaled experts on anything to do with the toilet – that is the "entrance" to the sewer they live in!
