THAT’S WHY: Sen. Ulibarri Unwittingly Proves the Necessity of Ballot Anonymity

Earlier this week, Sen. Ted Harvey proposed an amendment to a bill that would have protected the identity of Colorado voters who vote in small districts whose identity could be compromised by virtue of the fact that they’re one of just a few voters.   Because Democrats say no to every initiative that Republicans put forth, it wasn’t surprising that Harvey’s amendment got some pushback from Democratic Sen. Jesse Ulibarri.  What was surprising was that Ulibarri actually took a citizen to task on the Senate floor.  That’s unheard of.  See the video below.


Unfortunately for Ulibarri, his inappropriateness only underscores the necessity for Harvey’s amendment.  Why should ballots be anonymous?  So state Senators can’t single out political opponents on the Senate floor.

    Just the worst excuse for a representative since Rhonda "Rapsheet" Fields.
    Is this idiot even qualified to be doing this job? What are his qualifications?

    I mean, I know he isn't white, and he isn't straight, and that those are the only qualifications that matter to the idiotic left, but other than that…?

    Obviously Sen. Ulibarri has the same disease as Harry Reid. That's the one where citizens who prominently oppose them causes them to spout off at the mouth without thinking.

    The legislative process is seriously flawed when Senator Ulibarri can demonizee dedicated election quality advocate Harvie Branscomb. He knows better about Harvie's efforts. Apparently Ulibarri does not know the law, based on his completely off the wall comments on the prior legislation.

    I'm not sure what the rules are. That is a good question to ask your Senator (since it happened in the Senate and the Senate rules are different than the House rules.)
