Is it too soon for The Cook Political Report to reclassify the Colorado Senate race again? We know just last week Cook moved it from Lean D to Toss-Up. With this most recent news cutting the legs out from underneath Udall’s main attack against Gardner, Udall in this race is quickly turning into a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest.
No Labels, a group founded purely to foster a more bipartisan Congress just announced that Rep. Cory Gardner has earned their “Problem Solver Seal of Approval.” As Eli Stokols from KDVR reports:
A group founded by moderate lawmakers from both sides of the aisle aiming to push politicians back toward the eroding political center is endorsing Republican Cory Gardner in his campaign to unseat Democratic U.S. Sen. Mark Udall…
“…We’re proud to award the Problem Solver Seal of Approval to Congressman Gardner,” said Mark McKinnon of No Labels in a statement that will be released later Monday.
“His vision of success for the people of Colorado and the country incorporates a commitment to consensus building that we believe is critical for tackling some of the nation’s most pressing issues.”
… the “Problem Solver” distinction is reserved for lawmakers who “if elected, will collaborate with colleagues across the aisle in developing sound policies that support a national strategic agenda based on a set of shared goals.” [the Peak emphasis]
Before we open the champagne, PeakNation™, November is still far off, and a lot can change between now and then, but this is a big deal. Udall’s only Hail Mary was to go all Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” and slime his opponent as an extremist. Now, of course, this was absurdly false when it came to Gardner—hence, why it was a Hail Mary—but Udall’s campaign was trying their damnedest. Just this morning, Udall’s three campaign twitter accounts sent out eight distinct tweets (not counting the incestuous retweets of each other) in just a two-hour span trying to paint Gardner as an extremist on a women’s wedge issue. To that we now respond: HA!
Get this endorsement on TV ASAP. Let the people of Colorado see the true Cory Gardner.
" But a spokesman for the group later explained to FOX31 Denver that it is “an implied endorsement” — and that Udall, should he join the group “No Labels”, is eligible for the very same “endorsement.”
“We’d be happy to have Senator Udall sign on, and glad to give him a Seal of Approval as well,” Mark McKinnon of No Labels told FOX31 Denver Monday afternoon… "
i find it sad that we don't have choice of people that have never stepped foot in DC….But out of the entire pack Udall is one of the few that should keep his job.
I don't think anyone cares, or will remember this come November. Since I am no longer in campaigns, I now understand how annoying these distractions are. Who cares and why do they matter?
Good Lord, shills. Are you not even trying any more?
