The left is clearly getting nervous about its chances in November in Colorado’s U.S. Senate race. The League of Conservation Voters is spending $1 million on an ad campaign to convince Colorado voters that U.S. Rep. Cory Gardner is in lockstep with the oil and gas industry (isn’t there something ironic about that?). The ads claim that Gardner has taken $450,000 from the oil and gas industry.
While that’s true, it should be noted that the oil and gas industry is one of the largest in the state and that $450,000? It’s less than one percent of his overall contributions. Watch the clip here, in case you missed it:
Less than 1%? Looks like somebody didn't do so well in math class, eh? The number you couldn't correctly calculate is 10%. And yes, that's a lot of money to come from one industry.
O&G contributed twice as much as the second largest industry (Real Estate).
