Polluter-in-Chief Gina McCarthy is ditching the disaster scene that is the Animas River spill and heading to Japan this weekend to hide advance environmental bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
How will she accomplish such a feat with her agency’s environmental reputation in tatters?
By hosting a tea for the lady leaders of Japan’s environmental movement!
We recommend she serve a fragrant orange pekoe jasmine green tea, and advise her to be particularly careful in the ceremonial preparation and presentation so as not to spill any and cause an international incident.
Other activities planned for McCarthy’s week-long junket on the taxpayer’s dime include a trip to Minamata to talk about mercury pollution that occurred in the 1950s, and in Tokyo she will lecture on the evils of climate change and how President Obama’s carbon emissions plan will change the conversation from government-caused pollution.
When the going gets tough, the boss goes out of the country.
