While we spent yesterday consuming mass quantities of turkey and mass consumerizing at Best Buy to snag a 60 million inch TV, U.S. Rep. Mike Coffman was keeping it real and having his meal with the men and women who fight for this country.
No, not at the VFW hall across town, but in freaking Afghanistan. It doesn’t get more real than that.
Coffman, a former Marine and leading defender of veteran issues, is part of a congressional delegation spending the holiday overseas to meet with the troops and assess security, the Denver Post reported.

“We are most thankful for their service and for their sacrifices,” Coffman said. “I also want to extend a special holiday greeting and thanks to their families who had to celebrate this holiday without them.”

Kudos to Coffman for walking the walk, talking the talk, and breaking bread with the men and women putting their lives on the line for our country.
