MorganCarroll smallRepublican U.S. Rep. Mike Coffman is competing in the most competitive U.S. House race in the country. He’s up against liberal darling and former State Sen. Morgan Carroll.  Coffman has reserved $1.2 million of broadcast television ads over the final five weeks of the campaign. This is an initial placement focused solely on prime television real estate for the fall, but the total television buy will be much larger. These early reservations allows the campaign to get the most bang for the buck in this expensive and competitive market.

On the other hand, Carroll appears to be outsourcing her campaign operations to two organizations controlled by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and the House Majority Project. The two groups have placed millions in ad time targeting Coffman. That, or the campaign doesn’t have its act together (read: funding) to place the ads.

Either way, Team Carroll is going to have to spend beaucoup bucks to try to distract from her ultra-liberal record – a record that is entirely out of touch with the moderate Sixth Congressional District.

Good luck with that.
