BALLOT CHASE: Ballots Continue Slow March to Election Day

Posted on June 22, 2016 by ColoradoPeakPolitics

democratBallots continued to trickle in for the 2016 primary election. As of this morning, the ballot return totals for Republicans and Democrats were nearly identical with Republicans returning 163,550 and Democrats returning 154,951. These numbers represent 15.65% and 16.4% of ballots returned, respectively. The higher level of Democratic ballot returns without a primary at the top of the ticket could indicate a greater struggle between “Clinton” (establishment) Democratic candidates and “Sanders” (grassroots) candidates.

Below, again, are a few key counties. The ballots returns look to have tapered off somewhat from earlier in the week; however, they may pick back up again as the election draws near.
