Take a breath Colorado liberals, a Trump administration isn’t the end of the world as we know it, and your diehard rhetoric anticipating the worst isn’t helping.

From protests in the street to student walk outs to extended Facebook rants to teachers calling in sick to #imwithher supporters failing to get out of bed to Mayor Hancock pledging Denver has “got your back” to an immigrant rally on the steps of the state capitol…. At what point do we all say enough already? It’s been a week, time to move forward.

You’re candidate lost, and that’s okay. Things are going to be okay. You don’t have to fear for your safety. Everyone is not a racist. Yes, there are racist people in the world, but news flash – those same people would still exist if Hilary won.

The American Civil Liberties Union, Planned Parenthood, the Sierra Club and other progressive organizations are out for money and blood – mostly money, though. And we have no doubt the Trump years will be good to them.

Our nation is divided, and in so many ways this an opportunity for Colorado set and example for the rest of the country. Our state is very much divided as well. We have a split legislature, a split congressional delegation, a Democratic Senator and a Republican one. A Democrat serves as governor but all other statewide offices (Attorney General, Treasurer and Secretary of State) are held by Republicans.

Yet, somehow Colorado still stands. Not only that, we thrive. So let’s show the rest of the country that being politically and ideologically divided is an opportunity, not a death sentence.
