Having figured out that it’s only the Republican town hall meetings that are being targeted by angry Democratic activists, Bennet has finally decided to hold one of his own.

It’s the first town hall he’s held in two years. We suppose that’s because he was up for reelection last year and he was too busy getting reelected to actually meet with his constituents.
As Westword points out, Bennet escaped all of the negative publicity for not holding a town hall meet during the last recess.

He was in Cuba.

But after the glowing media reports of a town hall held by Polis last weekend, and the negative reaction Republicans received for holding teletown hall meets first made popular by Democrats, he figures it is safe to come out now.

Just to make sure though, Bennet gave little notice to attend, and is holding two meetings during the weekday, during work hours, tomorrow.

Bennet will hold one meeting later in the day from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Alamosa at the Rio Grande Water Conservation District Building.

The event in Colorado Springs event Thursday is at 11:30 p.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Tesla Education Center, and in Pueblo from 1:45 p.m. until 2:45 p.m.

We expect a lot of softball questions from Democratic activists, perhaps a slide show from his trip to Cuba.

If a Republican manages to get off work to attend and is actually called on for a question, maybe Bennet will be asked whether he will support Gorsuch for the Supreme Court.
