U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter barely announced his intention to run for governor before cold water was dashed over his hopes by CBS4’s Shaun Boyd.
It’s been more than 60 years since a Congress critter was elected to the office of governor in Colorado, Boyd reported.
To which Perlmutter responded, he is different, because knows how federal and state governments intersect.
In other words, he has congressional experience as a congressman — one of those guys who hasn’t been elected governor in 60 years.
We anticipate that when U.S. Rep. Jared Polis is put to the same question after his announcement, his response will be that while he physically served in Congress, he was never there mentally.
