The Senate votes Wednesday on whether to roll back an Obama administration rule that over-regulates methane emissions from oil and gas wells.

U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet is already accepting accolades from leftist environmentalists for announcing his decision to support the Obama rules.

He acknowledges that Colorado already has a rule in place which does a great job, so he thinks everyone should have a rule just like us.

But as U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner points out, we still need to determine how the federal rule would even work with the state’s rule.

When the Daily Sentinel spoke to Gardner last week, he was studying the rule in preparation for today’s vote.

Gardner’s vote will be crucial on this measure, as some East Coast Republicans have defected, leaving westerners to decide their own fate.
