U.S. Rep. Jared Polis says he’s okay with Amazon’s acquisition of Whole Foods and that it does not violate antitrust laws.

He made those comments Wednesday on CNBC’s Power Lunch, along with conflicting comments on whether congressional hearings should be held to examine the purchase.

Rep. Jared Polis, a Democrat from Colorado, dismissed the idea that Democrats want to hold hearings on the deal, because as the minority party they don’t control that decision.

“Of course I think both Democrats and Republicans believe in antitrust, and they also believe with the development of new technologies we should update what antitrust means in a digital era,” Polis said.

Democrats don’t want hearings because he says they can’t have them? Or because Amazon owner Jeffrey Bezos also owns the Washington Post and they don’t want to rock the liberal mother ship?

Polis says he’s all about supporting and nurturing startup companies, but as PeakNation™ knows all too well, that support only materializes when the business backs up his liberal ideology.
