The National Park Service has agreed to give us all an extra month to respond to their fee increase proposal, thanks to demands by U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner.

The feds want to raise daily rates during the peak season to as high as $70 in Rocky Mountain National Park and other western landmarks under their control.

It’s an extreme rate hike, which will also affect recreation and tour guides, along with their customers

So now we have until Dec. 22 to let the park service know our thoughts on this matter, most likely tucked inside of Christmas cards with wishes for a more thrifty new year.
