Jared Polis is slipping in the latest poll with just five crucial days to go before the election.

The Magellan Strategies poll conducted earlier this week on the gubernatorial candidates shows Polis with 45 percent and Walker Stapleton with 40 percent.

With a margin of error of nearly 4.4 percent, that means the race is neck-and-neck as it approaches the finish line, with 11 percent of voters still undecided.

Stapleton has cut into Polis’ lead among unaffiliated voters since the last poll, reducing the Democrat’s lead from 26 percentage points to 21 percentage points. Fully one-quarter of unaffiliated voters in the most recent poll said they hadn’t made up their mind yet.

The poll will be released this morning, but Colorado Politics was handed the scoop.
