U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter is still trying to spin his way out of his broken pledge to oppose Nancy Pelosi for House Speaker.

PeakNation™ will recall that rather than turning the 32-year representative out to pasture, he actually helped her craft a deal to give her four more years of power at a larger salary, and thus a larger pension.

Perlmutter is pleading his case again in a Colorado Politics profile, insisting his plan will pave the way for younger leadership — eventually.

Meanwhile, Dear Leader abandoned her post in Washington, D.C. to negotiate a deal to reopen the government, and instead went on a Hawaii vacation at a luxury resort, where the cheap rooms start at $900 a night and go up to nearly $5,000 for the top suite.

Trump cancelled his Florida trip and stayed in D.C. On Christmas, he traveled to Iraq to visit with the troops.

Is this really the change Democrats voted for?

It’s going to be a long four years with Pelosi at the helm — from her luxury suite room on a tropical island.

Thanks a lot, Perlmutter.
