After years of interfering with Colorado politics, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg now has a legitimate reason to come here.

Sort of.

The New York billionaire announced five minutes ago he was running for president, so we’re technically fair game for him to lecture us on the need for gun control.

We fondly remember Bloomberg’s 2013 interference in Colorado along with the Mayors Against Illegal Guns, and the recall elections of former state Sen. Angela Giron and Senate President John Morse, but we digress.

Bloomberg will be here Thursday in Aurora for a town meeting to announce his gun control platform, because why else would he come here?

But don’t bother rescheduling your calendar to attend.

The town hall meeting to announce his campaign policy will be closed to the public.
