Gov. Polis signed a bill today that supporters say will make police more accountable and transparent.

How did the legislature author the Enhance Law Enforcement Integrity bill so quickly?

According to Colorado Politics, they’ve been working on it for three years. Timing is everything in politics and government.

The bill might hopefully do some good, or it might just repeat rules and regulations already in place as numerous law enforcement officials contend.

One thing is for certain, the bill clearly does not defund or divest spending on law enforcement activities as Democrat activists demanded after weeks of protests, vandalism, and lawlessness.

According to the fiscal note and breakdown of costs by Legislative Council Staff on the Democrat-backed measure, the bill will cost more than $8 million for the first four years.
