Former U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner has a new gig with Michael Best Strategies as a member of its Board of Advisors.

Gardner’s new job is to collaborate on the firm’s business development and public policy, while providing strategic advice and counsel to clients.

Senators are banned from lobbying for two years after they leave office.

“With the knowledge he has accrued after serving for over ten years in office at both the national and state level, his unique experience finding bipartisan solutions will further strengthen the firm’s ability to serve our clients and help them achieve their business goals,” said Rob Marchant, the firm’s president.

The company focuses on strategic business consulting, government relations, strategic public affairs and communications. The firm is headquartered in Wisconsin, but has offices in Denver, Washington D.C., Chicago, and Austin, Texas.

“Strategies has a well-deserved reputation as a nationally leading government relations firm, and I’m looking forward to beginning my work with the team,” Gardner said in the company’s announcement.

Prior to being elected to the U.S. Senate, Gardner represented Colorado’s 4th Congressional District from 2011 to 2015 and served on the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
