The Pledge of Allegiance can no longer be recited at Silverton town meetings because “justice for all” is just too divisive.

And if any scofflaws try and recite all that nonsense about liberty during the public comment period, Mayor Shane Fuhrman has threatened to adjourn the meeting faster than you can say, “First Amendment violations!”

Welcome to the wild woke West.

It’s all so embarrassing.

Here’s Fuhrman’s excuse for prohibiting the pledge:

“Due to direct and indirect threats, inappropriate comments in and out of public meetings, and the general divisiveness this is creating in our community, we will not be doing the Pledge of Allegiance during town of Silverton board of trustee meetings,” he said.

Fuhrman threatened to take his gavel and go home when nearly a dozen attendees, including two town trustees, went ahead and recited it anyway.

After they were done, Fuhrman said the individuals were out of order and warned they would have to leave if there were any other disruptions.

So there you have it. Americans are out of order and being disruptive at a city government meeting in these here United States if they use their public comment time to say:

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America.

And to the Republic for which it stands,

One nation under God,

Indivisible,

With liberty and justice for all.

The British monarchy will be so proud.
