Candidate’s hubby suggests Democrats reject election results if they lose

It’s hardly news that liberals are preparing for a rough election cycle this year, but don’t take our word for it.

Just listen to Ian Silverii, who some might say got a little insurrectiony in suggesting that Democrats should deny election results when they lose.

Silverii, the husband of state Sen. Brittany Pettersen who is running for Congress in the 7th congressional district, made those comments on the May 12 edition of the contrarily named “Get More Smarter” podcast.

Sensing he was about to unload some unhinged craziness, he prefaced his rant by warning co-host Jason Bane, “I’ve been thinking about this, and I haven’t said it out loud yet, so if you want to cut this, go ahead.”

“What the fuck is to prevent Democrats from saying ‘you guys spent four years pretending that elections don’t work, weird, ok cool, we just lost a bunch of elections, those don’t count either. We think those were rigged.’ Like, we’re supposed to be the responsible adults that defend democracy and accept the results of elections that we lose, but the other guys just take it as fucking granted? And it’s part of their entire political identity to not believe that elections are secure or real unless they win them? Like, maybe we should start playing the other fucking game too.”

Oddly, Silverii was reacting to Georgia gubernatorial candidate David Perdue’s take on the integrity of the 2020 elections.

Perdue is slated to get crushed by incumbent Republican Gov. Brian Kemp in the May 24 primary, so we aren’t entirely sure why this set off Mr. Brittany Pettersen.

Was he just projecting? Because the true Governor of Georgia Stacy Abrams is set to coast to the Democrat nomination.

It’s funny he thinks Democrats should “start playing the other fucking game too,” when Abrams actually built her entire career on bullshit election denialism.

Meanwhile, voters here in Colorado have some questions of their own about Brittany Pettersen’s campaign, which omits Silverii whenever possible.

Do they really think they can hide the library of weirdness of Silverii over the years?

Especially his podcast appearances that last year included Silverii backing Marjorie Taylor Greene’s call for a national divorce.

Silverii is most famous for being fired as a 9News political contributor.

PeakNation™ will remember when the liberal ProgressNowCO that he led in 2018 enlisted a staffer of then-House Speaker Crisanta Duran to smuggle a portrait of Vladimir Putin into the state capitol. The stunt ultimately resulted in the staffer’s security clearance being pulled.

Silverii currently maintains a column in the Denver Post, where he recently argued that Republicans were exaggerating crime in Colorado.

Campaigns usually work fairly hard to keep spouses from making bizarre and embarrassing public outbursts.

Yet it seems like both Pettersen and national Democrats are just hoping voters won’t notice and rightfully begin to worry whether Pettersen shares Silverii’s extremist views.

Like the time she carried the ball for legislation to establish public drug injection sites across the street from the state capitol.

Everything her husband has said and done over the years confirms those two deserve each other’s wildly progressive ways.

No amount of money can compensate for a fundamentally flawed and extreme candidate like Pettersen, but Democrats have already made their bed by auctioning off their party’s nomination to the big-money corporate Democrats backing the Pettersen campaign.

We’ll see how that decision plays out this fall, because it’s staring to sound like they’re going to have to play that “fucking game.”
