The Colorado Springs Gazette has endorsed Joe O’Dea for U.S. Senate in the June 28 Republican primary election citing his best chance to actually beat the incumbent Democrat Michael Bennet in the fall midterms.

O’Dea is a blue-collar millionaire who was adopted by a Denver cop and stay-at-home mom, the Gazette writes.

He grew up entitled to nothing and earned everything he has.

“I don’t begrudge Bennet’s privilege,” O’Dea said. “What I do begrudge is that Bennet has used his privilege to help the Democratic party, not the people of this country.”

The editorial board didn’t meet with O’Dea’s opponent, state Rep. Ron Hanks, but argued that running a campaign based on relitigating the 2020 election is not a winning strategy in Colorado.

Voters who want to wallow in the past will stick with Hanks. Those who are looking for a brighter future should choose O’Dea.
