Colorado Democrats on Saturday elected a new party chairman who checks all the boxes they had supposedly progressed to despise.

He’s a white male, cisgender political operative who married a woman and immigrated from the Front Range to the Vail Valley where they raise a few cattle on a boutique ranch.

Shudder.

He was elected on a promise to protect all the establishment, incumbent Democrat politicians who currently hold office, so they can forever more get reelected..

And he promised not to forget all the minorities with this pledge to set a new standard of inclusion.

Because the old standard of inclusion is so obviously broken as to elect a straight, white male, political operative with a tourist ranch to lead the party of minority box checkers.

In other words, establishment politics is out of the closet and back in vogue for Colorado Democrats!

And they’re taking their party to the Western Slope where their first order of business is to elect another white, cisgender male from Aspen to represent the conservative rural area in Congress.

As the new chairman, Shad Murib has promised to do for rural Colorado, what Democrat Party control has already done to the Front Range with its rampant crime, homelessness, drug abuse and overdose deaths.

It’s the most Colorado-already-on-mushrooms thing we’ve seen this week.

A native of Littleton, Murib is the son of Lebanese immigrants, and is married to former state Sen. Kerry Donovan.

Murib is an entrenched Democrat operative who has worked for the likes of Gov. Polis, U.S. Sen. Hickenlooper and the worst of the lot, Secretary of State Jena Griswold.

He’s raised millions of dollars for the party, and yet despite all that work, Murib still had to face down a runoff in Saturday’s election and only won with a two percent margin with 52% of the vote. He beat out current vice chair Howard Chou and party volunteer Tim Kubik.

It will be interesting to watch the unmasked Democrats struggle to hang on to their minority base whom they worked so hard to convince to join their whitewashed ranks.

Meanwhile, rural conservatives better wake up to the threat headed their way.
