Colorado Democrats and their buddy Ken Buck voted in lockstep against impeaching Alejandro Mayorkas for refusing to enforce U.S. immigration laws and turning a blind eye to some eight million border crossers.

Impeaching the Homeland Security secretary — the first sitting cabinet official in history to face the House indictment process — passed this week on a vote of 214 to 213.

The only Republicans to vote against impeachment were Buck, Tom McClintock of California and Mike Gallagher of Wisconsin. Two Democrats didn’t show up for the vote.

PeakNation™ will recall that U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette, dean of the state’s Democrat delegation, was an impeachment manager in 2021 and presented the House’s case in the Senate trial against former President Trump.

Trump was impeached for the Jan. 6 riot that Democrats and many Republicans claimed was an insurrection to overthrow the government.

PeakNation™ will also recall the Democrat-controlled Senate failed to convict Trump of those crimes.

But we digress.

Behold! DeGette has double standards when it comes to the purpose of impeachment.

This week, impeachment does not solve problems, it’s all just political.

But when it’s Trump, impeachments are meant to prevent problems from occurring again.

Excellent rhetorical question, and obviously the answer is yes, Democrats do not want to stem the flow of migrants flooding our southern border.

They are all in favor of the seeds of open borders bearing more fruit. Or at least, picking the fruit in the fields.

And after ignoring the crisis for three years, the political left is now using the migrant crisis as a political bulldozer to push their frail and forgetful president over the finish line of the November election.

The Senate is expected to begin the impeachment trial later this month.
