A new report reveals the “crass” politics Gov. Polis played when secretly shipping migrants from Denver to Chicago to deal with the run on America’s border after President Biden ended the return-to-Mexico policy.
Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker says he busted Polis for using taxpayer dollars to buy bus tickets for migrants and then secretly shipping them off to Chicago.
Pritzker told the Chicago Sun Times in a report published Friday that he chided Polis and told him that is not how they should be operating.
From the report:
He said Democratic Colorado Gov. Jared Polis told him, “‘We’re not telling people to go to Chicago. They’re just getting off the bus and saying they’d like to go to Chicago.’ I said, ‘Come on. That’s not the case. You know, you guys are buying tickets to Chicago.’”
PeakNation™ will recall that non-governmental organizations, or NGOs, started the trend of busing migrants from the border to Sanctuary Cities including Denver. It’s those same NGOs that Democrats wanted to fund in their so-called border bill to continue enabling Biden’s open border policies.
Former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot was equally unforgiving of Polis’s actions and recalled that she and New York Mayor Adams were forced to issue a public “cease and desist” message to shame Polis from future migrant dumping.
“He didn’t stop until we outed him in public,” Lightfoot said. “We sent him a letter. We released it to the press, and then they decided, ‘Oh, I’m getting bad publicity.’ I mean, it was just, it was the crassest form of politics that I think I’ve experienced in quite a long time.”
When the former mayor of Chicago — arguably one of the most politically corrupt cities in American history — calls Polis’s politics the “crassest” ever experienced?
Well, that’s saying something.
