Republicans state lawmakers want to see Jena Griswold impeached for her “partisan political ideology” they say affects her ability to carry out the duties of Colorado’s secretary of state.

There are mountains of evidence pointing to Griswold’s hyper-partisan performance, and no one disputes with a straight face that she’s anything but a party puppet and partisan hack.

But that’s what has made her so popular with the Democrat Party that elected her, and will likely protect her at all costs.

Colorado Politics reports:

Colorado House Minority Leader Rose Pugliese and a fellow Republican legislator on Wednesday called on the chamber’s Democratic speaker to bring to the floor a resolution to impeach Secretary of State Jena Griswold, arguing that Griswold’s “partisan political ideology” has prevented the Democrat from carrying out her duties.

In a letter delivered late Wednesday to House Speaker Julie McCluskie by Pugliese and state Rep. Ryan Armagost, nearly every member of the House Republican caucus insisted that Monday’s U.S. Supreme Court decision keeping Donald Trump on Colorado’s presidential primary ballot underlines the urgency of their impeachment resolution, which the lawmakers say was submitted to the speaker’s office nearly a month ago.

Griswold was aghast at the 9-0 decision by the U.S. Supreme Court and was still insisting afterwards that state’s should have the right to decide who is qualified to hold federal office.

But the high court ruled against her theory, stating that way leads to chaos.

Allowing states to enforce Section 3 for federal candidates could result in a scenario in which “a single candidate would be declared ineligible in some States, but not others, based on the same conduct (and perhaps even the same factual record),” the court warned. And that could create a “patchwork” that could “dramatically change the behavior of voters, parties, and States across the country, in different ways and at different times.” “Nothing in the Constitution,” the court wrote, “requires that we endure such chaos.”

Does impeachment even stand a chance of being acknowledged, let alone heard in Colorado’s Democrat dominated state legislature?

Fat chance.

Especially since Griswold is expected to run for governor in 2026 when Jared Polis is term limited.

Proving the Republicans’ point, Griswold told Colorado Politics on Monday she “won’t be intimidated by extremists and will always protect the right to vote.”

It certainly diminishes her credibility when she refers to a major political party, whose elections she is charged with conducting, “extremists.”

Coloradans always had the right to vote, Griswold just wanted to take away our rights of who we could vote for.
