Gun ban passed by Colo House would be DOA at U.S. Supreme Court

The Democrat-controlled state House worked during a rare late Sunday session when voters weren’t watching to strip Coloradans of their 2nd Amendment rights and ban so=called assault weapons.

Even if it passes the Senate and is signed into law by Gov. Polis, the legislation is unconstitutional and will be overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court, which the state should be used to by now.

Senate President Steve Fenberg told The Colorado Sun there’s not enough votes for the measure to pass the Senate.

House Democrats had better sense to kill a similar measure last year, so what changed?

The need to get this man elected to the Denver House seat to which he was appointed by a vacancy committee last year.

House Bill 1292 was sponsored by Reps. Tim Hernandez and Elisabeth Epps, both of whom are endorsed by the Denver chapter of Democratic Socialists of America.

The Sun reports the bill passed 35-27, with Republicans and only nine Democrats voting against the measure.

The bill bans 13 common guns and would define into law which weapons go around assaulting people.

The bill’s sponsors may not believe in the Constitution — Hernandez changed the words to this oath of office when he was sworn in on a stack of socialist propaganda — but they’ll both get a solid spanking by it if this bill ever becomes law.
