Denver is already looking to make quick use of a charter school campus vacated this school year to instead house the next wave of migrants bound for U.S. sanctuary cities when the weather cools.
With Rocky Mountain Prep Sunnyside now merged within another nearby school in Southwest Denver, that building is vacant.
Denver Mayor Johnston’s office has confirmed the building has been identified as a potential migrant shelter but assured by Fox 31 News no final deal will be cemented until the concerns of residents are addressed.
“All shelter sites involve constant security and staffing, and we will always work with neighbors and the community to ensure any concerns are being addressed,” Jon Ewing of the Denver Mayor’s Office wrote in a statement to FOX31.
You know, like the city “addressed” neighbor concerns before building permanent homeless “micro community” camps where they damn well pleased.
Be forewarned, those who would oppose migrant shelters will be shamed as racists by Kyle Clark at 9News and his buddies in the progressive elite.
They will want us to know that border crossings dropped significantly in the last couple of months, and some might even try to credit the Biden/Harris administration.
But migration always drops in the hot summer months because it’s too dangerous to make the trek when it’s 100 degrees down there. Duh.
But before Denver inks any deal, they would do well to wait until after the November election.
If Donald Trump is elected, we won’t be seeing the border crossings flowing out of control again this winter.
And with immigration returned to its more orderly fashion, Denver won’t need to spend hundreds of millions more for overflow shelters and services.
Problem solved.
But be forewarned, everyone who agrees with orderly immigration will still be called racists by the political left.
