The Colorado Senate will take its first vote on a bill Friday that effectively bans the sale and manufacturing of guns, and they’ll do so without the support of an original Democrat supporter.

It seems that State Sen. Marc Snyder of Manitou Springs was somehow confused when signed on as a cosponsor, and didn’t understand that the bill he was supporting to effectively ban the sale and manufacturing of guns, would effectively ban the sale and manufacturing of guns.

Funny how confusion sets in with some Democrats when they realize that passing an unconstitutional gun ban in Colorado can also get them unelected.

The news comes from the Colorado Sun on the eve of the vote, which also reports:

Snyder’s reversal doesn’t mean the legislation won’t pass. It still has enough supporters in the Senate to clear the chamber, barring more than one other defection.

Ya hear that Colorado. Only one more Democrat needs to change their mind to block the measure from reaching the state House. Senate Republicans are already prepared to vote no in lockstep.

Also from the Sun:

Two Democrats — Snyder and Sen. Nick Hinrichsen of Pueblo — say they can’t vote for the measure as is, while two more — Sens. Dylan Roberts and Kyle Mullica — haven’t said how they will vote on the legislation.

Meanwhile, Gov Polis remains all mealy-mouthed about whether he would sign the bill into law. We expect it all depends on what his presidential advisors have to say when, and if, the time comes to make that decision.
