Colorado has been ground zero for the debate over 2nd Amendment rights ever since 2013 when Democrats passed a series of unconstitutional gun control laws.
Democrat policies, however, appear to have done nothing to curtail Coloradans’ enthusiasm for the right to bear arms. According to the state’s background check report, Coloradans bought 36,666 guns during the holiday season. This standout month of sales is the most since March of 2013 when Democrats’ anti-gun bills were moving through the legislature.
In an interview with Colorado Public Radio, Matt Sebesta, manager at Centennial Gun Club, attributed the increase in sales to the improving economy and more women buying firearms. That’s right, women! We hope Rep. Joe Salazar, D-Thornton, is paying attention. After all, he doesn’t think women are smart enough to use a firearm in self-defense.
Fortunately, Republicans control the state Senate ensuring that any future attempts by Gov. John Hickenlooper and legislative Democrats to limit 2nd-Amendment rights can and would most certainly be squashed. But it’s still worth reminding our friends across the aisle that the ranks of Coloradans who support and believe in the 2nd Amendment only continue to grow.
