Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke will be the keynote speaker during the Steamboat Institute’s Freedom Conference in August.

It’s the first time the Steamboat Springs event will host a sitting cabinet secretary. Could it be that he will be making a special announcement just for the Western Slope?

Like perhaps, the future location of the BLM?

This won’t be Zinke’s first trip to Steamboat Springs— he spoke at a foreign policy summit there in 2016.

In addition to learning where the new BLM headquarters will be located, folks will also want to hear about the future of public lands as well as energy exploration and development. And there will be plenty of ranchers there who will want to talk about grazing.

Other speakers in the event’s 10-year history include Vice President Dick Cheney, presidential contender Carly Fiorina and Steve Forbes.
