The biggest political celebrity son in Colorado — for all the wrong reasons — has been hired by the City of Denver.

Jordan Hancock, Denver Mayor Michael Hancock’s troublesome son, is reportedly working for Denver’s Department of Parks & Recreation.

The nepotism is catching some attention given the young man’s checkered history here in Colorado.

Former Denver Post editor Cindi Andrews called the move “brazen.”

PeakNation™ will remember when young Hancock may have mislead police after a 2014 shooting that nearly killed another teen sitting mere inches away from him in the back of an SUV.

According to police, Jordan Hancock was one of five men inside an SUV in Fort Collins when 19-year-old Jalen Robinson was shot in the head. Hancock and other men inside the car initially told police the gunshot came from outside, but that was disputed by others present.

Other witnesses of the incident suggested gang activity may have played a role.

The warrant notes that multiple 911 calls came in at around 2:42 a.m. on the 28th. Dialers said that they’d heard “suh woop” chants associated with the Bloods street gang from those gathered nearby — and there were plenty of them. As many as one-hundred people are said to have congregated on the street, with some of them allegedly having gotten into a beef with the occupants of an SUV before shots rang out.

Young Hancock was also involved in a 2018 incident where he berated an Aurora officer with anti-gay slurs and threatened to have him fired.

In video of the incident, the entitled young man let’s him know who daddy is before cutting loose with a nasty slur.

“My dad’s the mayor, you f*#!ing f@got,” Hancock said.

The mayor’s office attempted to downplay the the incident at the time.

Papa Hancock, who’s had some behavioral issues of his own lately, hopes to use the experience as a life lesson, as expressed in the following tweet sent yesterday: “We’ve addressed our son’s behavior at a traffic stop w/him. He’s apologized to the officer. While we don’t support nor condone his inexcusable actions & words, we love our son dearly & will work w/him to turn a personal mistake into a valuable lesson for himself & the community.”

Social media records obtained by KMGH showed a Twitter account reportedly controlled by Jordan suggest Mayor Hancock’s son had a longstanding hostility toward cops.

“Quote me on this… F—K THE AURORA POLICE! Ol racist steretyping (sic) mothaf—kas!. You aint shit without that badget (sic) b—ch!” a tweet from 2013 says.

An earlier 2013 tweet reads:

“The KKK traded in their white hoods for gold badges. F–K THE POLICE.”

Other tweets show a general distrust of law enforcement. In 2016, a tweet from the account references going to war with the police.

A 2014 tweet reads:

“U kant sit there and tell me s–t bout the police if u aint been in my situations #F—kThePolice
period”

The mayor’s office suggesting those were simply lyrics from a rap group of which Jordan was a member.

Now the mayor’s office denies having anything to do with the city’s decision to hire an employee with such a checkered background.

We are to believe this is the standard background of employees hired by the city’s parks and recreation department.
