No matter which side one stands on the issue of abortion, it’s hard not to view the meltdown of reason and reality by leftist activists as anything but sad and kind of twisted.

Abortion was not rendered illegal overnight nationwide, as they would have us believe.

Many states have gestational limits, with exceptions for rape, incest, and the life of the mother. There doesn’t seem to be any outright bans without exceptions.

And in Colorado, there are no limits — abortion is permitted up until the moment a child is born.

Abortions were always supposed to be rare and safe, but not anymore.

It sounds like activists want nothing short of abortion on demand at every stage and in every state for whatever reason. Democracy depends on it, they bizarrely insist.

If it sounds bonkers that civilization would cease to exist if grownups are forced to practice reasonable birth control methods instead of abortions on demand, that’s because it is.

Take for example, the recent mock funeral procession led by the Colorado Springs Democratic Socialists of America.

The protesters met at Acacia Park and marched downtown with a small, black cardboard casket with the word “democracy” written in white on the side. The group walked to Colorado Senator Michael Bennet’s local office on Tejon Street where they performed a eulogy to democracy.

“We want Senator Bennet and Senator Hickenlooper to take this seriously and to lead the fight knowing that Coloradans don’t just care about Coloradans, we care about solidarity with the people in other states who are being hurt,” Othon added.

It’s so disingenuous for Democrats to behave as if safe and legal abortions will be banned without exceptions.

Plus, Democrats have known for decades the Roe v. Wade decision was precarious in its claim that our forefathers saw abortion as a constitutional right.

Democrats have had 50 years to codify abortion into law as a safeguard, but instead they kept up this diabolical scheme to use women’s bodies as a divisive political issue and fundraising mechanism.

Congress had its chance. Now it’s up to the states to decide gestational limits as they’ve always done, with exceptions for the life of the mother, rape, and incest.
