The political prognosticators of the Beltway establishment have downgraded U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet’s chances of reelection.

Bennet’s race is no longer a sure thing for the Democrat Party to pin their hopes on keeping control of the U.S. Senate.

Overall, the Cook Political Report says it’s a toss-up as to whether Democrats can hold their majority in the 50-50 Senate, where Vice President Kamala Harris holds the tie-breaking vote.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee says Bennet’s in real trouble in his race against GOP candidate Joe O’Dea.

Desperately trying to change the subject from inflation and high gas prices, Bennet launched a new ad campaign this week against O’Dea on abortion.

Bennet takes the radical stance supporting abortion as a lifestyle choice up until the moment of birth. O’Dea, who was adopted, supports early term abortions and in the case of rape, incest, or life of the mother.

After all the massive spending and spin by Democrats in Washington this month, President Biden’s popularity has only increased by a few points, and Bennet is running away from his record of voting for Biden’s priorities 98% of the time.

Since Bennet can’t defend his record, he has resorted to distorting his opponent’s, — the oldest trick in the book, said NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi.

“Sometimes you don’t need polls or the opinions of pundits to know a race is close, you just need to watch what the candidates do. Thus far, Michael Bennet has trotted out his debunked line of never taking corporate PAC money, and now he’s lying about Joe O’Dea’s positions. Not a word about inflation, gas prices, or crime. Michael Bennet knows he’s in deep trouble,” Arrighi said.
