Kevin Priola made his disgust with Republicans clear when he announced his switch from the GOP to the Democrat Party on Monday, much to the sympathy and embrace of his new progressive friends.

So, it’s difficult to take seriously Democrats’ shock and dismay that Republicans no longer want Priola to serve as their state senator and have launched a recall campaign effort.

How dare Republicans shake off the left’s tiresome stereotyping of Democracy Hate by demanding an election to recall an elected official under the rules of Colorado’s Constitution?

What’s likely to make or break the effort is a decision from the office of Secretary of State Jena Griswold as to whether the recall will occur in Priola’s current district that leans Democrat, or the redrawn district that swings Republican and takes effect in January.

The suspense is killing us! What will Griswold decide?

Will Colorado’s unabashedly politicized secretary of state be influenced by Priola’s sudden support of her reelection campaign just one day after he switched parties and needed her help to ward off a totally legal and constitutional recall effort?

Shameless, the both of them.

And yes, we expect Griswold to bend over backwards to help her new buddy.

Pissed off Republicans will have to gather nearly 18,300 signatures to get a recall effort off the ground.

Stay tuned.
