We may have reached the pinnacle of luxury concerns – a lack of diversity in the beer industry. Yes, that’s right, too many white men (gasp!) are brewing beer in Colorado, which is a big problem for the wokesters.

So much of a problem, in fact, that the wokesters at the Brewers Association have a “partner” (translation: consultant on retainer) working with them to address this “issue.” No details on how exactly this person is tackling the manufactured problem because that doesn’t matter nearly as much as the virtue signaling that comes from checking the Diversity Equity and Inclusion box.

The world through the eyes of 9News and the left

9News has been taking a deep dive into what it means that 93 percent of breweries are owned by someone who is white and that 75 percent are owned by men. Here’s a hint: the people who brew the beer look a lot like the people who drink the beer – 30-40 something-year-old men with disposable income. 9News needs to look no further than their very own Kyle Clark to see how this dynamic plays out in real life.

On a somewhat related note, if 9News cares so much about diversity they probably shouldn’t have laid off three Latina reporters last year without cause.

But back to the issue at hand – the white man’s domination of the beer industry. Here’s our question: why should anyone care about this? Are many women and people of color applying for loans or brewing licenses and getting denied because of their race and gender? Because that would be a reason. However, no data or examples to that effect are provided. Instead, the DEI expert for the Brewer’s Association points to racism from 50-plus years ago as the reason the beer industry lacks diversity today. It’s a nonsense explanation.

Good beer doesn’t care about your race or gender. Anyone can drink it, and anyone who wants to can brew it.
