Grab some Kleenex and a box of popcorn because the mainstream media is breaking up with Democrats’ top gal pals running for Congress and spilling their dirty little secrets!

The drama unfolds with Axios Denver dropping this bomb on Yadira Caraveo, an Hispanic state legislator running for Congress in Colorado’s new 8th Congressional District.

Caraveo has reversed her stance on open borders and is walking back her letter to President Biden last year asking him to defund immigration enforcement.

The polls must be killing Democrats on their support of open borders and out-of-control immigration and drug smuggling because state Sen. Brittany Pettersen, running for Congress in the 7th District, also signed the letter and is wiggling out as well.

The letter demanded a divestment of border patrols, immigration enforcement, and customs enforcement agencies.

What they’re saying: “Sen. Pettersen does not support defunding ICE,” campaign manager Mark Hatton tells Axios Denver in a statement.

“I would not defund either of those agencies,” Caraveo said during a recent televised debate.

Axios says the moderation of their progressive positions was prompted by Republican arguments in favor of tougher immigration and border enforcement to block drug smuggling and prevent skyrocketing overdose deaths from fentanyl.

It turns out voters are against people dying from drug overdoses, the ladies are learning.

And when last we saw both women at work in the state capitol, they were passing a law to further weaken the penalties for fentanyl possession. Pettersen was the prime sponsor of the shameful bill.

Cringe, and pass the Kleenex.

Then take a moment of silence for those who lost their lives overdosing on decriminalized fentanyl.

PeakNation™ will recall that Pettersen led the effort to legalize drug dens, or as the hip progressives call it nowadays, supervised drug use sites of illegal drugs.

Pettersen’s efforts were thankfully tanked as a really, really bad idea.

Now she claims that if elected to Congress, she would no longer support her own idea, which the Biden administration’s Justice Department is pursuing.

That’s right, when not hunting down concerned parents and treating them like terrorists, the Justice Department is considering the legalization of drug dens to enable addicts to shoot up heroin laced with fentanyl or meth in a neighborhood near you.
