Congress will finally get briefed on Monday about the Chinese surveillance balloon that toured the U.S. for a week before it was shot down by the military over the South Carolina coast.

Colorado Republican U.S. Rep. Ken Buck said President Biden should have ordered the balloon shot down before it entered the airspace over the U.S.

“This is completely unacceptable,” Buck said. “The American people deserve honest answers from the Biden Administration.”

Biden says he told the military to shoot it down on Wednesday, two days after it appeared over the continental U.S.

We are none the more comforted that Biden thought flyover country was safe to shoot it down without hitting civilians, but the Aleutian Islands Wilderness was off bounds.

Colorado Democrats meanwhile, were apparently too busy watching Tik Tok videos and didn’t care that a giant balloon the size of three school buses was piloting across the nation to capture surveillance information and transmitting it back to the Chinses Communist government.

Happens all the time, they muttered nonsensically. My dog will protect me.

Military veteran Jason Crow was the only Democrat in the delegation to at least acknowledge we were openly being spied upon by our enemy.

Freshman Brittany Pettersen was too busy talking about herself to notice.

Close, but no cigar …

U.S. Rep. Joe Neguse couldn’t be bothered.

Colorado’s Democrat Senators also ignored the Chinese spying threat overhead, as well as the very angry response from China after our military intervened with its “weather” mission.

From the Wall Street Journal:

The Chinese Foreign Ministry, in a statement issued Sunday, called the decision the previous day to bring down the balloon a “serious violation of international practice,” while saying Beijing “reserves the right to make further responses if necessary.”

While Colorado Democrats were dutifully ignoring the spying shenanigans from their Chinese overlords, the communist government confirmed another fleet of surveillance balloons were transiting across Central and South America.

Perhaps they were just checking up on their illicit Fentanyl trade snaking its way to the open U.S. border.
