Democrats are doing everything in their power to reduce the supply of energy produced in the U.S. to heat our homes, believing the only way to save mankind is to freeze us to death.

Thank you, progressives, ruining public education.

Now that their tactics have driven costs through the roof and Coloradans are struggling to pay heating bills, again, Gov. Polis wants energy companies to just give the rest of their product away for free.

A media release from Polis’ office stated gas bills increased 75% compared to last year. Polis’ plan is for the state to achieve 100% renewable energy by 2040, ending reliance on fossil fuels.

“We must leave no stone unturned to save Coloradans money on utility bills,” Polis said in a statement. “Coloradans need near-term and long-term relief on their energy bills and today I am laying out ways state entities and utilities can take action to help save people money on their energy costs, to identify and implement opportunities to protect Colorado consumers, lower costs, and avoid price swings like the one we’re experiencing now.”

Note to Democrats bent on socialism: Price swings aren’t so dramatically felt when the market is on solid footing.

But Colorado hasn’t felt energy security since Polis took office, and Biden too for that matter.

So here’s Polis’s big plan:

Improving access to programs that already exist to help people without jobs to cover bills? That does nothing to lower the cost of the average Coloradan’s heating bill this winter.

Analyze and study ways to reduce costs, increase public engagement with their utility company, implementing the state’s building performance standards and more statewide energy codes?

It’s a lot of busy-sounding work that does nothing to reduce your utility bill this winter. Or next.
